The board change is the latest development for the renowned New York hospital plagued by revelations related to Jeffrey Epstein
Hedge fund billionaire Glenn Dubin, one of several Wall Street figures whose relationship with Jeffrey Epstein is facing scrutiny, has stepped down from the board of Mount Sinai hospital, according to sources close to the renowned New York institution.
The revelation follows news earlier this year that Mount Sinai, which has long ranked as a top medical provider in New York City, had reportedly formed a committee to review its longstanding ties to the late accused sex trafficker. The hospital features prominently in the Epstein files released by the Department of Justice, including an incident in which a Mount Sinai doctor appears to have operated on a young Russian woman inside Epstein’s Upper East Side townhouse after she got hurt during a stay on his Caribbean island.
Dubin, a founder of Highbridge Capital Management, who had financial connections to Epstein and previously referred to Epstein as a friend, served on Mount Sinai’s board of trustees since 2007 and was a vice-chair. His wife, Dr Eva Andersson-Dubin, who had once dated Epstein prior to her marriage, also stepped down earlier this year from the board of Mount Sinai’s Icahn School of Medicine.
The circumstances surrounding the Dubins’ departure from these Mount Sinai boards are not clear.
In a statement, Mount Sinai said: “The Dubins’ terms on the board of trustees ended this past spring, and they did not seek re-election.”
The hospital did not respond to questions about whether it had concluded its Epstein-related review or about the findings of the review, or about whether there was a link between the review and the Dubins’ decision.
A spokesperson for the Dubins did not respond to questions about their departure from the boards. In a statement, their spokesperson said: “Had they been aware of Epstein’s vile and unspeakable conduct, they would have cut off all ties long ago and certainly never allowed him to be in the presence of their children.”
The couple were still listed as members of the hospital’s “boards of trustees” in May 2025, in a journal marking the hospital’s 40th anniversary Crystal Party, a major fundraiser. In the journal marking the 41st annual Crystal Party, held this past May, neither of the Dubins’ names appeared on the “boards of trustees” list, which included those who were members as of 31 March 2026.
A 2019 report in the New York Times, published after Epstein’s arrest on sex-trafficking charges but before his death, said Dubin first met Epstein through his wife and had provided Epstein with financial advice earlier in their decades-long relationship. The newspaper also reported that Epstein had invested $10m in Dubin’s hedge fund, and that the two men continued to socialize in Palm Beach even after they “parted professional ways”.
At the time, a spokesperson for the Dubins said that they were “horrified” by allegations of Epstein’s sex trafficking. “The Dubins were loyal friends and mistakenly believed Mr Epstein, a person they had known for decades, had rehabilitated himself after his 2008 plea and deserved a second chance,” the spokesperson told the newspaper in July 2019.
